The Opposition Labor Party has voted with the Government to ban same-sex marriages in Australia. There's an election due soon. On the basis of Labor's aboutface on this issue it seems that no matter who gets in it's going to be more of the same old conservative shit.

considering that marriage is legally a civil contract (at least in california) not a religious contract, it seems stupid for a conservative to want to ban it. that's not conservative, that's moronic and just sums up how civil liberties in this country are being eroded. maybe the moronic shit will push us into the street, oh i forgot about the "free speech zones".
