stray thought

I sometimes wonder what my poetry would be like if I had kept on writing instead of giving it away for 25 years.

Mark,

I know what you mean. I wonder about myself, but my fallow period was only about 8 years--still a good junk of my life.

Would we have calcified if we'd kept on? Or would we have discovered new ways we cannot hope to find now?

Well, guys, my days of quietude lasted some fifteen years, so I'm no stranger to these feelings. But I won't second-guess myself, either. There's no crying in baseball, and I think it applies to poetry, too. All I can say, it's great to see we're back.
